This is a creative use of a 4 over 3 polyrhythm.
You can play a really cool sounding polyrhythm by phrasing the bass drum every 3 sixteenth notes in a standard 4/4 pattern. This can add some rhythmic tension to your playing.
These exercises will help to strengthen your double stroke rolls. Practice these with a metronome and only play as fast as you can execute these comfortably.
