We are going to build a four over three polyrhythmic pattern played in 3/4 time. Let’s take it one piece at a time. The basic polyrhythm is 3 quarter notes played on the ride cymbal against 4 notes played on the snare.

                                            .
Once you are comfortable with the rhythm, let’s enhance the ride by playing a straight version of the standard jazz ride pattern.

                                                   .

The feet are phrased in 2/4 with a hi-hat splash on the first note. So we will play the feet three times (two measures in 3/4) before the phrase starts back on the one.

                                                           .

So if we put it all together it will look like this.
                                                                    .

                                                                       .
And finally, phrase the snare part between the snare and a tom.
