A good way to work on your musicality is to play and record yourself playing along to music, with and without a click. This is where drum-less practice tracks come in. These are songs or musical pieces with the drums removed or with no drums on the track.
Along with playing to your favorite songs, these practice tracks are a good way to analyze your playing, because there is no drum track to guide you. Playing to these tracks is also great practice for when you head to the studio to record. Below are some places where you can find these tracks.

And lastly, I highly recommend Jim Riley’s “Survival Guide For The Modern Drummer“. This book includes transcriptions and songs with drum-less tracks in a variety of styles. You can find this on Amazon or your favorite music store.
