Let’s talk about applying the 13-stroke roll around the drum set. The 13 stroke roll is doubles on each hand, 13 strokes. I have written it starting with the right hand, but feel free to practice these starting with the left if you set up left handed.

Let’s move the right hand to the ride cymbal, left hand on the hi hat, and if we play his as 16th notes, let’s add bass drums on 1 and, and snare drums on 2, e, and 4.

Then if we take the very same thing and instead of the cymbals, put your right hand on the floor tom and your left hand on a tom.

Once you get it down, you can experiment with moving your left and right hands to different parts of the drum set.
All right, the 13-stroke roll. You could play these examples as drum grooves or use them as drum fills.
